While Acupuncture is often used as a preventative medicine, it is also very effective in the treatment of a number of preexisting medical conditions.

Each case is unique and it is important to have a full assessment. Acupuncture works best in conjunction with your regular doctor’s treatment plan and it is important you continue to see both your regular physician and your acupuncturist to monitor and manage your ongoing medical concerns.

Whether recovering from an injury, or dealing with long term pain conditions such as arthritis, chronic migraines, or fibromyalgia, acupuncture is a very effective, non-addictive pain management option.

Acupuncture can help reduce stress and anxiety, relieve panic disorder, as well as assist in weight loss, smoking cessation, and in managing drug and alcohol addiction.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal medicine has been used as a part of traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years and is often used in conjunction with acupuncture to enhance the effects of treatment. Herbal formulas are crafted to address the patient’s specific symptom pattern, and there are classical formulas that have been used safely and effectively for centuries to address different conditions. A thorough intake is required to determine the appropriate formula for a patient. All herbs carried in my clinic are tested for quality assurance and are regulated under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Specific points are selected at the face, scalp and along the body to lift, tone, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Tiny needles enhance the skin by stimulating elastin and collagen production, resulting in a firmer and more youthful appearance. This is a non-surgical option to reduce the signs of the aging process.

Nutritional therapy and lifestyle modification are an integral aspect of Chinese medicine. Dietary choices have a direct effect on your daily health and also play a major role in preventive healthcare. Appropriate recommendations are made on an individual basis to suit your needs and goals.

Gua Sha is a technique that has a similar effect to cupping as it also stimulates the flow of blood and moves qi in the body’s channels to help release stagnation and toxins from the body. This is achieved by rubbing a gua sha tool over the skin. It can leave marks similar to those that cupping leaves.

Gua sha is intended to create temporary marks on the skin, and these bruise-like marks are a physiological reaction that brings more circulation to the local area. Gua sha is a traditional medical technique and frequently used by TCM practitioners to break up fascial adhesions and increase blood and oxygen flow to the region. Its therapeutic application is very similar to the modern Graston Technique used by physical therapists, chiropractors, and athletic trainers.

Tuina is a therapeutic form of Chinese massage that utilizes rhythmic compression techniques along your bodies’ energy channels to establish the harmonious flow of Qi.
Cupping is an ancient method of healing that has been used in China and around the world. This technique utilizes a vacuum inside of a glass or plastic cup to create suction on the skin. This helps to stimulate the flow of blood and moves qi in the body’s channels. Cupping can be used to treat respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, and congestion; arthritis; gastrointestinal disorders; and certain types of pain. Cupping may leave marks on the skin similar to a bruise; however, the marks are usually painless and disappear in a few days.

Aroma Acupoint Therapy

Aroma AcuPoint Therapy™, or AAT, is a gentle, completely safe and yet profoundly effective treatment modality that utilizes the energetic potential locked within pure essential oils. Treatment involves placing particular oils on specific acupoints or reflex zones on the body in order to trigger energetic changes in the individual that will bring her back to a state of balance. AAT works on the basis of mutual resonance through the systematic and intentional combination of essential oils and acupoints, resulting in a more significant clinical effect than using either of these treatment methods alone.
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that involves the burning of mugwort (artemesia vulgaris) above the skin. Moxibustion has been used for thousands of years to strengthen the immune system and stimulate blood flow to initiate healing and maintain general health. The heat easily penetrates joints providing relief for arthritis and joint pain. Infrared heat is also often incorporated into treatments to relieve joint and muscle pain, heal soft tissue injuries, and relax muscles. Heat therapy is beneficial for many conditions, including arthritis, chronic back or body pain, painful menstruation, low energy, and depression as well as for strengthening the immune system and enhancing fertility.
